Five years ago, we relocated from our old, open-air scrap yard to a new property and decided that we would be an enclosed yard, erecting a massive building to house our traditionally outdoor operations. And we couldn’t be happier with the results.

We receive a lot of questions about how we grade aluminum– and that’s easy to understand, as there are hundreds of different types of aluminum across seven series, each with different alloying elements. It’s a lot to keep straight!

We’ll be closed on Thursday, June 19th this year in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

There really is no job too big for Research Alloys! Yesterday, the steel yard was all abuzz as we unloaded an old front-end loader weighing in at a whopping 82,000 pounds. Now, our team will begin the process of scrapping the equipment to prepare for recycling.

For years, Stargate Metals (sister company to Research Alloys) has been selling new stock as well as usable scrap to the central Ohio community. Businesses and individuals alike can shop our selection and browse for materials for big projects or pick up small, one-off items–it’s almost like a garage sale!
