Every year, we log tens of thousands of miles hauling millions of pounds of metal all around Ohio and the surrounding states. All that driving puts a lot of wear and tear on our trucks! Since we’re committed to the importance of “reducing, reusing and recycling,” we keep our trucks on the road as long as we possibly can (with a lot of help from Sam, our dedicated mechanic). But we also know that, in order to continue to offer prompt pickups and deliveries for our customers and our buyers, we need to be ready with reliable equipment that can get the job done. 

Our new truck– number 800 in the fleet– is our second new truck installation of 2025. Back in June, we added a new semi trailer to the lot as well, adding increased flexibility to our loading schedule and enabling us to complete larger customer pickups. Truck 800 features state-of-the-art aerodynamic advancements. Every element is designed to enhance airflow, reduce drag, and improve fuel economy and is built to optimize performance while maximizing serviceability and visibility. And most importantly, the Cascadia is engineered for increased safety. Studies from organizations like the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have shown that modern safety systems can dramatically reduce the risk of collisions– keeping our crew, and other drivers on the roads, safer. 

Shawn Hagerty (pictured above) is one of our dedicated staff drivers and will be the primary man behind the wheel of truck 800. Buyers will recognize Shawn as one of our regular delivery drivers; his routes regularly take him all over Ohio as well as to Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Kentucky. After suffering a health setback earlier this summer and being away for a couple months, Shawn is happy to be back with the team–and excited to be behind the wheel of his shiny new truck!
